Michael Callaghan (1) arrived in the Colony of NSW per the convict ship “Minerva”. He was to become a “soldier”, looking after other convicts.
He lived in the Hawkesbury River area and died across the river at Wilberforce where his headstone remains.
His son Michael Callaghan (2) [mother unknown], married Catherine Sleven and moved to Wilberforce, then the Tuena goldfields and then on to the Lambing Flat Goldfields at Young, before settling at Jerrybang’ near Monteagle NSW.
